Some background on Tarot cards:
The Tarot is a psychological and philosophical system consisting of 78 cards divided into the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana are the 22 named cards most often associated with Tarot: the Lovers, the Empress, the World, etc. The Minor Arcana are the four Suits, consisting of four court cards and ten number cards each. The Suits are: Cups, Pentacles, Wands, and Swords.

One of the oldest Tarot decks, the Visconti-Sforza deck of Milan, Italy existed around 1450. There have been many claims since then about the ancient magical meaning in the archetypal symbolism of the cards, and they have been used for fortune-telling ever since. A modern reading of the Tarot cards consists of shuffling the deck, drawing cards, arranging them in a pattern or "spread", and interpreting the symbols in relation to a question or current life influences.

There are many excellent sources of information about Tarot on the web. We hope you enjoy this collection of Tarot card jewelry.
